Just about every little boy's dream is to own a marvelous train set. When you think of your typical train set what you imagine is the OScale train set. My Grandfather had an entire Rocky Mountain scene complete with trees, tunnels, waterfalls, and much more. In his collection he had at least 20 different engines. He had and extensive collection of tankers, cargo haulers, cabooses, passenger cars, almost everything you could imagine. I enjoyed spending many hours watching not only the trains but watching him. He made a transformation when the trains began to circle and dance their way through the mountains. It was as though we had taken a step back in time and no longer was he my grandfather, but my best friend.
We would work many hours building and setting up various routes and practicing the switching of the track. Everything was so intricate that your timing had to be precise or you would crash one of those glorious engines or spill your precious cargo. His models were so detailed that if you looked into the passenger cars you could see the expression on the faces of those privileged enough to ride in his train. With his exquisite attention to detail it made it easy to immerse yourself in the train and you could almost feel the wind in your hair. I look forward to experiencing this with my children and grandchildren someday. The OScale train will still be around for generations to come. Someday my grandchild will show his grandchild the train set we built.
